m-hance, a leading Microsoft Gold Partner, is delighted to announce that it has been working with the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND Association) to deliver the charity’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) project.

The MND Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland that is focused on MND care, research, and campaigning. The charity has a network of more than 7,000 volunteers all dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by MND, now and in the future. Having become reliant on legacy systems which were unable to meet its growing needs as the charity evolved, the Association selected the m-hance NfP 365 solution for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement to meet its needs around care services delivery and volunteer management.

The Association’s chosen solution is based on the m-hance NfP 365 Help and Advice and Volunteering modules, along with a Volunteer web portal. The Help and Advice module is tailored to the Association’s specific requirements which include the MND Connect helpline and the provision of financial support grants, equipment loans, and other care services. This module has helped to streamline processes and speed up service delivery while offering a single view of all interactions with the people the Association supports; providing the means to evaluate the extent and impact of its services.

The NfP 365 Volunteering functionality helps the Association to support a nationwide network of 89 local groups and branches, along with recruiting and managing individual volunteers. The volunteers have access to an online self-service web portal, delivered through the Dynamics 365 Portal component. For volunteers who deliver care services to people with MND, the portal allows them to have secure access to information about the people they help and to record their activities. This in turn provides improved and consistent support and supervision of volunteers for Association staff.

John Odell, CRM & SharePoint Solution Specialist at m-hance says “We were delighted to be selected as the Association’s preferred CRM partner following a formal tender process. As experienced providers of tailored CRM and finance solutions to the Non-for-Profit (NfP) sector, we work closely with charities to understand their unique needs and have developed solutions built from Microsoft Dynamics 365 that can help to address them. Following the project’s successful launch, we look forward to continuing to work with the team at the Association, helping them with ongoing support.”

As a result, the Association has improved engagement with volunteers by sharing information and delivering a streamlined experience and increased the effectiveness of volunteer management, while reducing the amount of administration. In addition to meeting specific operational requirements and delivering process and efficiency benefits, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and NfP 365 has provided the Association with a powerful and flexible platform to meet future needs.

Simon Cooper, Head of ICT at the MND Association said: “m-hance’s NfP 365 solution for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement was tailored to specific requirements around care service delivery and volunteer management. The final result is a modern, flexible platform, which has streamlined the Association’s processes, accelerated our ability to deliver services to the people we support and better engage with our volunteers – the heartbeat of our organisation.”

About the Motor Neurone Disease Association:

The MND Association was founded in 1979 by a group of volunteers with experience of living with or caring for someone with MND. Since then, we have grown significantly, with an ever-increasing community of volunteers, supporters and staff, all sharing the same goal – to support people with MND and everyone who cares for them, both now and in the future.

We are the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland focused on MND care, research and campaigning.

Our mission

We improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers.

We fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments, and brings us closer to a cure for MND.

We campaign and raise awareness so the needs of people with MND and everyone who cares for them are recognised and addressed by wider society.

Our vision

A world free from MND
