m-hance, a leading Microsoft Gold Partner and provider of Microsoft solutions to the charity sector, has been working closely with Crohn’s & Colitis UK after being selected to deliver a modern and robust Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution for the charity.
Crohn’s & Colitis UK is the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis – the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Crohn’s & Colitis UK are working to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research into a cure; to raise awareness and to give people with Crohn’s and Colitis hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives.

The team selected m-hance’s NfP 365 Enterprise solution, which is built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales and Service, as their chosen product to move the charity into a new digital era. Early phases of the project saw Crohn’s & Colitis UK go live with a Dynamics 365 / NfP 365 Enterprise solution developed by m-hance for the Crohn’s & Colitis UK Helplines and Research Grants teams. These areas of the solution allow volunteers to manage helpline cases for supporters requiring helpline support. The solution also enabled health professionals to log and manage applications for research grants via cutting edge Dynamics Portal technology.
The past 12 months have seen the full NfP 365 Enterprise solution go-live for teams including Membership, Event Management, Supporter Care, Fundraising, Major Giving, Legacy and Finance. The system provides Crohn’s & Colitis UK with a highly accessible and responsive service which integrates with the charity’s other applications such as JustGiving, Virgin Money Giving, RealBuzz and Stripe for the secure processing of credit card donations from within a single system.
Memberships, along with Supporter Care and Event Journeys, were key digital aims for the transformation project, with the NfP 365 solution successfully providing a seamless technical solution whilst keeping the community which Crohn’s & Colitis UK want to provide for at the heart of the design and implementation.
Data was transformed using KingswaySoft and SSIS from old legacy systems into the single NfP 365 Enterprise database, which then allowed further integration to additional applications to provide an enhanced supporter and member journey experience.
m-hance utilised the Microsoft software family which NfP 365 Enterprise sits under to provide an efficient “thanking” process by allowing users to create feature rich “thanking” templates and upload the generated “thanking” letters into SharePoint for greater document management, again all from within the NfP 365 Enterprise application.
Integrations include website technologies such as portals for helplines volunteers and research health professionals, to a fully configurable consent portal which allows consent to be captured in an easy to use manner, whilst remaining compliant with GDPR. A feature rich NfP 365 API was developed as part of the NfP 365 Enterprise solution which has assisted Crohn’s & Colitis UK to build an online donation and membership website which fully integrates into Dynamics 365.
